Toshiba and LQUOM begin joint research on quantum-repeater-extended QKD

Toshiba and Japanese start-up LQUOM signed a one-year joint research agreement (March 2026 to March 2027) to evaluate combinations of Toshiba QKD systems with quantum repeater architectures. The goal is long-distance QKD beyond the reach of trusted-node relays.
