Quantasphere featured in World Economic Forum white paper on quantum technologies in healthcare

10 December 2025 · Quantasphere

The World Economic Forum, in collaboration with Accenture, has published Quantum Technologies: Strategic Imperatives for Health and Healthcare Leaders. The white paper examines how quantum computing, sensing and communication apply to health and life sciences, and includes a case study on Quantasphere’s engagement with Abeer Group, one of Saudi Arabia’s largest healthcare providers.

What the report covers

The paper organises quantum applications in healthcare into four value pillars: discovery acceleration, operational optimisation, precision diagnostics, and trusted data and security. It assesses use-case maturity separately for “creators” (pharmaceutical and medical-technology companies) and “deliverers” (hospitals, clinics and payers), and sets out a value chain for each.

The Quantasphere case study

Abeer Group serves more than four million patients a year and treats the confidentiality of electronic health records as an ethical, operational and regulatory obligation. Facing the future vulnerability of stored data to quantum computing, the group sought long-term protection through a quantum-safe solution.

The case study describes a memorandum of understanding between Abeer Group and Quantasphere to implement quantum security in two phases, beginning with secure information exchange between Abeer clinics and remote staff. The full account is in Case Study 7 of the report.
